Rashelle

Rashelle has been singing since she was three and writing songs since she was twelve. She grew up surrounded by music, listening to everything from R&B, funk and jazz to reggae, soca, hip-hop and pop. That early mix gave her a love for music that has never been particularly concerned with genre, and an even deeper interest in the way a song can make you feel.

She began writing her own songs in middle school, often starting with a melody and building from there. What started as a way to write about the things on her mind became a lasting part of how she processes the world and connects with other people.

Now, Rashelle is bringing all of those influences into music of her own. She loves strong melodies, great vocals, clever writing, live instrumentation and records with real groove, but she's just as interested in the personality behind a song. Her writing leaves room for humor and playfulness alongside the more vulnerable parts of life, without treating either one as more important than the other.
